COOL DOWN UNDER (2024)
FRANKIE'S LIVE (2023)
The Frankie Trombone Tour 2023 included several concerts all over Switzerland. Dear Misses jumped into their glittering nudie suits, grabbed Simi Fässler on pedal steel guitar as additional musician and brought their country-rock-epos Life and Death of Frankie Trombone on stage. The setlist was complemented by some cover songs as well as some older Dear Misses originals, fitted in a country outfit. This led to the band's first ever live album. Half of it was recorded live at the Foolpark Recording Studio in Lucerne, the other half live at Mauz Music Club in Einsiedeln, on 1st of April 2023.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS (2022)
It's a thing with Christmas songs; some people love them, but most people hate them. Nevertheless, Dear Misses dared to do it. Of course, a Christmas song can be a little cheesy and trashy. So don’t take it too seriously, leave the taste cop, enjoy the music and have a merry Christmas.
But what makes a Christmas song? A certain mood has to be conjured up; there has to be some magic in it, a nostalgic-melancholic chorus flooded with confidence and hope, and of course, lots and lots of bells.
The Lyrics are about the over-commercialization of Christmas, which has degenerated into a business. In times of energy shortages and war, we should return to the basic idea of Christmas. You don't need fancy Christmas lights and lots of presents to be happy. Just share a little bit of your luck, and you will find peace.
LIFE AND DEATH OF FRANKIE TROMBONE (2022)
On their third album, Dear Misses have made a real stylistic break.
Distorted guitars and howling fuzz solos have been exchanged for acoustic guitars, pedal steel guitar, mandolin, violin, blues harp and harmony vocals. It's a concept album about the life of fictional wild west outlaw "Frankie Trombone." The 12 original compositions deal with the erratic life of an outsider, his heartbreak, loneliness, inner turmoil, social ostracism, failure and eventual death. Despite the lyrical heaviness, the songs carry a vibe of summer lightness.
On a musical level, Gram Parsons' vision of Cosmic American Music continues; country and folk are blended with rockabilly, psychedelic, blues and even trip hop. Deeply impressed by the maestro, "Ennio Morricone", elements of the Italo-Western soundtrack are also present in the songs.
Typical for "Dear Misses", the album was recorded and mixed completely analog. For the album cover, the five musicians pose in custom-made nudie suits, decorated with glitter stones and psychedelic subjects in front of a star-studded desert sky, shortly before a new day dawns in the life of Frankie Trombone.
MONSTER'S MOTHER (2020)
"There are no limits" was the credo for this record. Following two years of live-playing, some private traveling and a lot of songwriting-time, a whole lotta songs just waited to be tracked.
Entering the brandnew Dear Misses studio with a 16-track tape machine, the band never sounded that high-end and still lofi as hell.
Over 20 songs were recorded, containing influences of glam, blues, southern, country, garage and psychedelic rock.
Finally, it all ended up in a double album called "Monster's Mother", released again on finest vinyl. On one hand, "Monster's Mother" is the name of the final song on the album, telling about fanaticism is the origin of worldwide dictatorial evil. On the other hand, it's a monster of an album, and its mother is the over hundred-year-old house, where the band's studio is located.
The album was a little breakthrough and reached some attention, with the lead single "Mr. Bombastic" was played on Swiss national radio "Couleur 3" in rotation.
GREEN IS THE NEW MUSTARD (2018)
For the follow up of the debut, not enough songs were ready yet, so it became only a digital released EP. The band extended their soundscape with some punk attitude as well as including guest musicians for the first time. The to-be-continiued collaboration with violinist Hanna Landolt started on this record. Closing with the well-known western movie soundtrack "Trinity", the foundation for their 2022 concept album "Frankie..." was laid right here.
NO. 5 SMALL TOWN TUNES (2017)
Three friends, two weeks of Christmas holiday, one TASCAM portastudio and a bunch of songs; the Dear Misses debut sounds raw and unpolished. Original tunes as well as a few covers were
recorded within a few days in the cellar of the former band flat with the address: No. 5 Small Town. Garage-rock, blues, a little bit of country and psychedelic defines the Dear
Misses sound: "Bluesadelic".
Released on limited vinyl on the bands very own then new label "Monobuster Records".
